×B8. Sustainable and resilient agrifood value chains

A succession of shocks to both demand and supply over the last decade has challenged agri-food supply chains. In addition to pandemic impacts, many shocks are linked to broader trends: climate change, expanded biosecurity threats, changing consumer demands, population movements, and concentration in retailers. The impacts of these shocks have created increasing commercial and public interest in supporting resilient supply chains. Modelling and simulations are crucial methods to strategically plan for food system transformation and resilience. They can aid the design of sustainable outcomes, increase food security, and reduce the vulnerability of value chains.

This session invites papers that connect conceptual models and simulation studies that are based on principles of sustainability and resilience with specific application to agri-food industries, particularly those that are related to:

Key topics: Resilient food systems, Value chain, Sustainable behaviour, Capacity for adaptation
