Long-term defence planning is the process of making real investment decisions today to deal with an unknown adversary in an uncertain future. For the Australian Defence Force, these decisions are guided by Australia’s defence policy and is underpinned by science in futures thinking, war gaming, modelling, simulation and prioritisation methodologies. This session will explore approaches and methods used to support evidence-based decision making for Defence Force design.
