Supply chain and logistics management lie at the heart of operations research. These two important topics cover a lot of challenging optimization problems in management science. In particular, the main focus of supply chain is a competitive advantage, while the main focus of logistics is meeting customer requirements. Logistics management is the part of supply chain management that includes all activities related to the movement and coordination of goods (information) from their source of origin to the final point of delivery, and includes production and distribution between the point of origin and point of consumption. Supply chain management includes, but is not limited to, new product development, marketing, operations, distribution, finance, and customer service while evaluating different supply chain strategies. In this session, we would like to focus on new areas in supply chain management and logistics optimisation problems including; vehicle routing problems, integrated vehicle routing problems; location problems; inventory problems; strategy and competition.
Key topics: Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Mathematical modelling, Heuristics
