×J4. Hydrological/Water balance modelling for water services: impact and value

Australia is the driest and has the second-highest water use per capita among inhabited continents. Therefore, accurately quantifying the water that we have available now and in the future is important.

Many water balance modelling techniques are used for monitoring and reanalysis, forecasting and water resource planning across industry and research. This session invites presentations on development and evaluation of hydrological models and techniques for use in hydrological services.

Presentations are open in the following and related areas towards high impact and value services:

• Model development and evaluation of outputs
• Blending of models and data
• Evaluating uncertainty of models and data
• Using water balance modelling outputs for services (for water management, agriculture, etc.)
• Use cases demonstrating the impact and value of the applications are also encouraged.
