K3. Behavioural Operations Research

BOR is described as the study of non-hyper-rational actors in operational contexts. Simply put it combines operational decision analysis and the behaviour of individuals or small groups. The goal of research in BOR is a deeper understanding of operations processes through a study of behavioural dynamics in operations management modelling, policy prescription and practice. This field has grown to fill an essential void by laying the micro-foundations for the broader discipline of operations management. Theoretical, methodological and empirical papers employing rigorous quantitative or qualitative methods with a focus on understanding the effect of behaviour on operations processes are welcome.
