This session seeks for studies that support multifunctional land use strategies and the assessment of ecosystem services by using environmental mdoelling and optimization approaches on different spatial scales. This session will be interdisciplinary focussing on abiotic (water provisioning, regulating, soil protection), biotic processes (provisioning services, crop production, pollination, biocontrol) and stakeholder involvement. Studies with modelling approaches on different levels of complexity are welcome, which could also include projects that link river basin management strategies to the ecosystem services concept. The quantification of various ecosystems services and the analysis of trade-offs and off site effects as well as stakeholder invovement should be considered in the contributions.
