This session will focus on tsunami inundation and flood modelling. It is now common for practitioners to use sophisticated computer models to obtain accurate predictions of tsunami inundation or flooding and to use that to provide advice for safe evacuation routes or appropriate development. With the advent of inexpensive HPC computer resources, such as GPUs and HPC level resources via the cloud, it is now possible to envisage very accurate real time tsunami inundation or flood prediction and warning systems. But even with our current sophisticated methods, there are still many open questions. What are the appropriate models to use in various situations? How do we implement efficient numerical schemes to solve these models? As such, we invite submission of papers which investigate the modelling, computational and/or algorithmic issues involved in tsunami inundation or flood modelling.
